Bead for life Donation

Hi Bead for Life fans

I made my first lump donation to BFL! I love this organization. I do plan on increasing my collection for Bop Dot. This is such a phenomenal group to support. So, thank you to everyone who has purchased through Bop Dot and made the donations possible. I received a letter from them letting me know what the money directly benefits within BFL. I want to share this with all of you~

The three main categories are:

Income Generation (for the beaders)
The women making the beads and Jewelry earn 5-7 times what they earned prior to joining bead for life!

Housing
More than 50 homes have been built for members and their families. A road and wells were also built. This next year they BFL will help build up to 60 more homes.

Vocational Training
In 2007 BFL had 100 students in vocational training programs to help Ugandans to a direct path our of poverty.

The goal is to help eradicate poverty!

Again, thank you to everyone who has purchased and help to support this group!

Bead for Life. . .

I have been selling lots of bead for life jewelry! There has been a lot of interest in the organization. So much so, I need to buy new beads. Please take a moment to check out their website, www.beadforlife.org

I thought this would be a good way support a charity through my favorite crafty hobby art, JEWELRY!
To this date I have donated over $25 dollars and counting because great customers like you buy my earrings which are made with the fabulous hand made beads from africa.

Thanks for supporting this organization!

Busy Spring and Summer

Hi Bop Dot friends. It has been pretty busy to say the least. I plan on posting a little more often now that I am in my new house! We are now home owners. We found our house at the end of April and closed in late June. I'm finally set up to create again. Such a beautiful thing to be settled. We also have a new puppy named Daisy. She is 7 months already and keeping us very busy. I've been brainstorming about the future of Bop Dot and hope to be turning new products and jewelry out daily. Stay Tuned.

Bop Dot is going to a shop. That's right a local shop in denver has just opened! It's called Love your Earth and it features local artist, recycled and upcycled clothing and baby gear. Well, it has so many neat things, when I went to drop my jewelry off I was very tempted to buy lots of lovely things. If you are in the Highlands area of Denver be sure to stop by the shop and check out the fun locally made items.

blogger=slacker

Hi everyone! I know all of you avid blog readers have been very disappointed with me. I have officially been a slacker with my blog. I been pretty busy on my days off. I'm trying to keep up with errands. On top of that, I have been trying to practice sewing by making little projects around the house for myself. I have (somewhat) successfully made a pillow cover and some curtains. PHEW! I took a bitty visit to Ft. Collins, Co one of my favorite places to visit. I hit up the New Belgium Brewery with a friend. I sure wouldn't miss it. From there, we dropped into a couple of the shops in Old Town. I was so floored when I found two vintage post cards- believe it or not- of Springfield, MO (the city I went to college in). What great memories came flashing back! I also went to a great bead show and found to some lovely things. I am so excited to get creating. Stay tuned for some new designs.

Goodnight! I am sleepy.
